FRIENDLY HAPPY HOUR

29 August 2024

For the friendly Happy Hour gathering on Thursday, August 29, 2024 in region 15, we note the presence of 25 people who showed up at the Brasserie artisanale LA BROUE shop, 1950 Du Fer-A-Cheval Ch A, Sainte-Julie QC. These were the regulars who were there, but this time even more than we expected.

You may not believe it but Guy Babin, Patrick Berleur, Christian Parent, Guy Boismenu and Robert Chrétien who were sitting at the same end of the same table, all five ate this dish (last picture). What a coincidence.

FRIENDLY HAPPY HOUR

25 April 2024

Our friendly happy hour meeting held on April 25, 2024 took place at RESTO PUB CHEZ VINCENT (20 – 100), 327 Rue Saint-Laurent W, Longueuil QC with around twenty cheerful participants. And this establishment is renowned, founded in 1942, it is still open today and has survived the COVID-19 difficulties.
It is one of several restaurants frequented by police and government personnel in the metropolitan region, like those in Montreal such as the former Magnan tavern in Pointe-Sainte-Charles, open from 1932 to 2014. They remind us a lot beautiful memories like Friday lunchtimes when several personnel from different police forces met to mark a busy week. This is why we must take advantage of such an opportunity.

PRESIDENT DINNER WITH INVITED SPEAKERS

3 November 2023

Precisely about what we call ¨The President's Dinner¨, an evening held last November 3 at the Casa Grecque restaurant in Brossard.

If onomatopoeia could be heard when reading my text, this is what it would look like.

WHOWWWW!!! OUFFFF!!! AHHHHH!!!

Thank you, thank you and thank you again to the organizers of this wonderful evening. A dinner, which will surely stay in our hearts for a long time. We had the honour on this occasion to highlight the passage of two of our speakers, Mrs. John Galianos, polygraphs and retired from the Sûreté du Québec and Michel Juneau-Katsuya, who, I seriously think is the most difficult person to label, if this word exists for man. Let's say he's part writer, and yes and ex-members of ?????

Okay, now let's get to the heart of the matter.

Everything was perfect during this meeting. A dinner worthy of the name, extraordinary starters ranging from Squid to Smoked Salmon to Shrimp Salad, adding a choice of three courses in service and an excellent dessert at the end.

But even more, there was the atmosphere and that is impossible to concoct even with the best chef. There was in the air a hope of needing to celebrate, to rejoice with FAMILY.

Thank you all for making this evening so successful.

During dinner, we had a draw of the book The Mosaic Effect, which will be translated into French soon. It was won by our colleague and friend Claire Jacques. Michel Juneau-Katsuya summarized it. We also issued seniority pins to members. Gille Couture received his 35th and 40th; Laurier Leblanc reached his 45th year. At the end of the evening, your president danced with your flag to close the evening which was a great success. The musicians are Laurent Roberge on drums, Enzo Grande on piano and Rick Vannelli on base.

PRESIDENT DINNER WITH SPEAKER

27 April 2023

Our region 15 IPA Montérégie held a president's dinner with speaker on Thursday April 27, 2023 at "La Casa Grecque" restaurant in Brossard at 8245 Taschereau Blvd. It was our member Robert Chrétien who organized it and invited Michel Juneau-Katshuya as a speaker. This was the second time that Michel was invited as a speaker in our region.

Michel Juneau-Katsuya is a recognized expert in the fields of espionage, counterintelligence and terrorism. He worked for many years with the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), where he was, among other things, Director of the Asia-Pacific Strategic Analysis Office.

47 other members and friends came for this occasion. During the dinner, seniority pins were distributed with 5 years of seniority, namely Jean-Guy Robitaille, Paul-Émile Desautels, Pierre Addy and Michel Juneau-Katshuya; with 10 years of seniority, namely Guy Boismenu, Nathalie Legault, André Lemaire, Herb Lang and Jean-Paul Pelletier; with 15 years of seniority, namely Guy Babin and William McKay; with 20 years of seniority, namely Gaëtan Labelle; Gille Couture has 41 years of seniority this year.

There was a voluntary contribution which made it possible to collect an amount of money; there was a draw for two pairs of tickets to see the benefit show organized by "L’Apart À Moi" to be held on September 27 at the Dix-30 "l'Étoile" with Mr. Christian Gendron alias Piano Man; a draw was also made to win remaining bottles of wine.
